Jackson Hole People’s Market 3rd Annual Iron Chef Competition
Wednesday, September 11th 4-7pm

The Jackson Hole People’s Market will be holding its 3rd Annual Iron Chef Competition onWednesday, September 11th from 4pm to 7pm. The Competition will be held at the People’s Market located at the base of Snow King Mountain.

Clark “Porky” Myers & Mike “Lenny” Britton will be defending Couloir Restaurant’s title against other local valley chefs. Each team will have two chefs working together to create a unique dish using three local secret ingredients. The chefs will not find out the secret ingredients until they start cooking. They will then be given 10 minutes to prepare a menu and one hour to create their dish. Each dish will be judged on taste, presentation and originality. The challengers for the event will be Fine Dining Group, Chefs, Joel Tate & Matt Melehes, Snake River Grill, Chefs, Kyle Nicholson & Brian Laughlin and representing the private chef sector of Jackson will be Jarrett Schwartz and Eric Wilson.

One twist this year will be the addition of a beer paring with each chef’s dish.  Each chef will be given three beers each from Roadhouse Brewing and Snake River Brewing.  The chef will then select the beer they wish the judge to drink with their dish.

The judges for the event will be Pete Wakine (Bar Manager at the Spur), Audrey Smith (President Slow Foods in the Tetons), Annie Fenn (Board Member Slow Foods in the Tetons) & Cara Rank (Dishing JH). The People’s Market will be holding a silent auction for the public to bid on becoming a judge for the competition or to get a plate of food from a chef of their choice. The Jackson Hole People’s Market is an ongoing program of Slow Foods in the Tetons. The event is sponsored by The Murie Center, Snake River Grill, Fine Dining Group, Cosmic Apple Gardens, Snowdrift Farms, Couloir Restaurant, Snake River Brewing, Roadhouse Brewing, St. John’s Hospital & Aspens Market.
